Art has always been an integral part of Sarah’s life, but it wasn’t until middle age that she completed a formal education in it. She now teaches others and is also an illustrator and writer of children’s books.
Sarah loves tones, movement and colour – and is compelled to paint people. Inspired by the work of Degas, Lautrec and Rubens, she says “I love their fluid, fleshy bodies and their fabulous ability, using an impression of simplicity, to give their work such vitality”. Her preferred medium is watercolour, with its wonderful luminosity and transparency: “The more I work with it, the more I am addicted.”
