Jimi is an award-winning photographer, celebrated for his combination of documentary, photojournalism and portraiture. Whether working with famous recording artists or unknown faces shot on location, his eye for narrative ensures that his images are character-driven and he is renowned for his ability to blend social documentary and portraiture in an informal and fluid approach. His work at the G8 protests earned him widespread acclaim at Europe’s biggest and most prestigious photography competition, The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (Px3), and his pictures have appeared in the national press, including the Times Magazine and The Scotsman.
A Glaswegian based in London, Jimi brings this talent for portraiture to his paintings and drawings resulting in remarkable effects of light and shade. He has been fascinated by birds since childhood, and was inspired to start painting them only recently.
